３．Present-day kyudo

Syaho in consideration of the sport nature of modern society -- Amateur Archery Federation of Japan takes the lead, and adopts the feature of each school now -- is in use. There is the present condition that Syaho was equalized nationally and regional difference has decreased.However, it is "sayho of Section 8 (after-mentioned)", a "custom", and a "suitable distance" that Amateur Archery Federation of Japan -- "syaho by a common view" of Amateur Archery Federation of Japan is very ambiguous, and a difference is observed in a technical discussion by the leader -- has set officially. In spite of using same bow, arrow, and kake by the same firing range, even if it is the opposite technology, it is completely valid.

　The reason a difference is accepted to be to such a technical discussion originates in an evolutive process peculiar to archery of Japan. The purpose unites and the circumstances where came out, respectively, and it evolved and developed uniquely in the school serve as a backdrop.Technical choice has accomplished by syasyu -- technology mixes in confusion -- and the leader of traditional systematized techniques of Japanese archery. With changes of the leader layer which is only a high rank, fashion and a decline of syagi and syakei in a time are seen as one feature of present age kyudo.

　Kyudo was also excepted from school education with judo . kendo by the basis of the name of martial art.

It stops having hardly looked back also generally, and completely became a form of abolition.

Amateur Archery Federation of Japan was organized after several years after that, or kyudo came to be again adopted also as school education, such as a Showa 26 (A.D. 1951) high-school . university, as one of the subjects, and both the front and a slope were taken up. a league -- this --   Two large-sized types are evaluated highly and the best is concentrated on development of kyudo peculiar to Japan.

It is rebuilt from the club of the organization of every place, an occupation, and a school, and came to be taken in also as a regular curriculum of a high school in the Showa 40s, not only the kyudo as martial art but the recognition from the new field of the kyudo as a sport for social gymnastics and health enhancement is obtained, and it has continued up to now.

　Since kyudo is also a sport which can train soul and can also train concentration, it is loved also as a sport which trains soul.

２．HIstory of kyudo

Through what kind of process did generating of bow and arrows occur in which time in the developmental process of human-beings culture? It is not certain. However, in order that the primitive man probably been hungry at the primitive age may take the thing in the place which is not accessible, a certain elasticity is used. It is supposed whether it was invented as intellectual work of flying a thing. Clothes and gastronomic culture become rich by generating of bow and arrows, and gastronomic culture must have progressed markedly especially.

After rice crop introducing in Japan, it will be said that this rice crop brings about an economic big change, and produces and stores food, a paddy field is needed, and the storage warehouse of unhulled rice is also needed. The difference of wealth and poverty arises there inevitably with formation of wealth, and vast land is [ place with sufficient location ] needed for it, a battle broke out in every place generating of dispute of a boundary line, expansion of power, a village, etc., generating of a small country, and in the motion ..., bow and arrows were used as arms, the bow of the ceremony to God and the bow as arms for a battle are large, and the bow was divided in the two directions here. The bow of the worship became the Ogasawara school and the Heki school where the bow of a battle makes the Heki Dansei the origin, and has continued till today. The work was polished and it was called archery. The archery in a battle says a samurai's symbol as "bow picking" by a samurai's required subject till the Edo period.

Thus, while the public kyudo place disappeared, the life and traditional culture of Japanese kyudo were maintained by the activity of the earnest archer who tries to succeed correctly the tradition from archery ancient times, such as opening a private kyudo place on the other hand.

The government encouraged the training of the martial art to people strongly as the war situation of the Pacific War drew near, but people kept away from kyudo in the last stage the end [ war ]. The feeling over national martial art had a very severe thing from the reaction over the martial art strict enforcement which should say after the end of the war also as a national policy prewar days - during the war.

１．The difference between kyudo and archery

　

 The difference between kyudo and archery is explained. First, if it says from the definition of language, archery will become a general term of what shoots an arrow using a bow. That is, archery and wakyu are contained in the word "archery." Kyudo becomes the game which shoots an arrow using the bow of wakyu. Archery becomes the game which shoots an arrow using a bow. With archery, it is OK also in the bow of wakyu, or the bow of archery. Therefore, even if it participates in the game of archery (archery) with the bow of wakyu, it is OK, but it cannot participate in the game of wakyu (kyudo) with archery (archery). Since kyudo and archery are the tools which shoot an arrow using a bow, it is essentially the same. Wakyu of a different place are only a bow and a bowstring, and there are neither a stabilizer, nor a site, furthermore a clicker, etc. Furthermore, wakyu mainly has only a bow for the rights and there is almost no bow for the lefts. The archery can carry out the mark of the place where the arrow was stuck, and meets. In kyudo, it does not come out so much and rubs the beauty of a model, etc. In kyudo, if a target is removed, it will be zero point, but in a thing like a sudden death, there is also a thing which was close to the target.

When a classification called martial art is considered as a sport, archery (archery) is a sport and I rather think that wakyu (kyudo) becomes martial art. ", as for fighting for a match, in martial art, the process in which is just a means to the last and it never reaches not to the purpose but to there is just the essence of martial art" will be said. Therefore, in kyudo, it seldom cares about hit nature. It is the purpose to push as wakyu and to train the heart, work, and the body. It aims at training the heart, work, and the body in any sports. It becomes entire another question a target and to practice it. Kyudo is only merely targeting strongly to push as wakyu and to train the heart, work, and the body.
